Couples' Choice Dice: Easy craft for Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, or Date Nights

couples choice dice

I was at my local craft store a couple of weeks ago and saw packages of 8 wooden blocks that were 1 1/4 inch each priced at $2.99. Of course I used a coupon 😉  As soon as I saw them, I knew what I wanted to make.  These couples’ choice set of dice would be great for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries or just to give to your other half for date night.  You and your partner each get to roll one of the dice and that will be your treat for the special occasion.  You can add whatever you would like to each of the six sides.

Here is the list of materials needed:

2 wooden blocks (I used 1 1/4 inch) You could cut and sand your own

2 different color paints (I used acrylics and used pink and blue but if I were to make this for my hubby and myself, I would have a deeper blue for me and green for him).

Paintbrushes

Cricut and vinyl and transfer tape or another color of paint or permanent marker (I used my Cricut and cut the words out of vinyl)

Instructions:

I probably don’t really have to explain what I did. It was very simple.  First I painted the two blocks in my choice of colors.  I then decided what I wanted to put on each dice.  Out of vinyl (cut at 1/4 of an inch using your preferred font. I believe I used George), I cut each of the following twice:

Breakfast in Bed

Foot Massage

Back Massage

Movie of Choice

Meal of Choice

Your Choice

After the words were cut, I “weeded”  the excess vinyl and transferred the cut-outs to the blocks with transfer tape.  I put the same six groups of words on each block (one on each side).

If you do not have a Cricut machine or other die-cutter, you could use permanent marker or another color of paint.  I free-hand painted the one below.  If I was to do it again, I would have wrote it on with pencil first.
